What is Worship on the Crooked Road?
That is not just a catchy opening line for this web site. It is a question that I have thought about time and time again. Each Sunday, the faithful gather in churches all across the world. The worship services are filled with ornate bulletins, expensive projectors and screens, pew cushions, and other comforts. Far too often, we have taken the simple act of worship and complicated it so that it may no longer help us to offer pure worship to God.
I have come to the conclusion that we have so gummed up worship, that we are not able to truly focus on worshipping God. My one desire is to have a worship service that gets back to just us and God. My soul is starved for that simple time with God. I only want to get back to the heart of worship. This idea was finalized in my mind when I heard "The Heart of Worship" by Matt Redman. I'll let you read the words in the column to the right.
That's my desire for Crooked Road Worship: to get us back to the heart of worship. It is a simple service so that we can simply focus on God. It is my greatest hope during this adventure that you will find this service to be peaceful, encouraging, and help you to reconnect with God.
